Deje mi corazon en El Salvador

As most of you know, in November 2009 we had the chance to go back to my mission and put on a clinic for the youth that are preparing to go on their missions. Today we had a reunion for the people from that trip. I walked in and I saw one of my favorite couple, Elder and Sister Rivas, they are the area Seventy of my favorite country, El Salvador. It is funny, I see these missionaries come home and move on and just forget their missions. I can not, I can not move on from the wonderful people and connections that I made. So I sat next to this couple and just chatted about life, and they are so nice, so interested, so amazing they even offered their son to be my husband. We will see if I take that offer if many more birthdays pass me by being single. But as we were listening to these area seventies talk about the impact this clinic has made on their countries, Sister Rivas just took my hand, and that meant so much to me! I felt like I was back on my mission, sitting next to the old ladies and having them hold my hands, my companions feeling the need to be touching my arm as we contacted. I was so annoyed when I first got to the mission, but now, as Sister Rivas grabbed my hand I realized I MISS IT! I truly felt like ME, I was myself on my mission, I miss that. So enough reminiscing, but tonight was exactly what I needed. . . funny how a simple gesture can make a huge difference!

Here is the Rivas family with my family, minus Carlos.

Flashback

This is what I thought about today, I feel like BYU is a big game of boys chasing girls. Ironically enough the boy that used to chase me in third grade and pull my hair is actually in my Spanish class and is engaged. However, what made me think of this is I was walking to class today with a boy in my ward. When I turned to leave he kicked my butt, yup, just kicked it. I turned around and not sure what my face looked like. . . I just laughed, all the while thinking " why don't you just chase me to class and pull my hair when you catch up to me". Boys, kicking girls in butt is not effective flirting, just weird. Thanks!

This was actually six months ago, but I was looking through pictures and i just love this pictures. My sisters are beautiful, my brothers are funny and so good looking!!! Don't you agree??

I am in love

If you visit house of turquoise today you will see this picture of a kitchen. As I am house hunting down in Cali I can only hope this is what my kitchen will look like, in my dreams right? Add some poppies on that counter and I am in love.

I love to see the temple

Last night, the Bishop's parent's came to speak to us. Brother Jamison is the temple president of the Panama temple. It was such a great fireside and really got me thinking. His wife spoke of the people of Panama and how they sacrifice so much to go to the temple. It got me thinking of the people in El Salvador, they are SO excited for the temple and the blessings they will receive from it. They spoke of a lady who would wake up at 2am so she would be at the temple by 6am. It made me think of the Cuzul family, who I have thought of a lot lately. I saw a member of their family when I went in November, I know that their family of 35 will be blessed greatly by the temple. Just makes me think of all the things I need to do better so I can always be worthy to go to the temple.
Sister Jamison also spoke of sacrifice and sacred, she said something that impacted me a lot. She said, quoting Elder Packer, that in order to experience sacred things we need to make sacrifices. Sometimes we need to sacrifice the things of the world to be 100 percent on the Lord's side. It was a great fireside and just a good reboot and reminder of the amazing blessings of the temple.

This one is for you, Lace. . .

Today I thought I would comment on this word, LOVE. It is a word thrown around a lot here at BYU. But I thought I would say some things that I love about today. . .
- I love that it is sunny today
- I love that I only have two classes today
- I love Hulu
- I love working out with my trainer, how is it that he knows me too well?
- I love walking up the RB stairs thinking I am so cool taking two steps at a time then some girl with HUMUNGO legs who passed me taking steps three at at time
- I love talking to super nice people who have things to say
- I love sour patch
- I love spanish music
- I love looking forward to having my family come up
- I love diet coke
That is all I can think of now, the person chomping on their apple next to me is distracting. . .

My weekend!

This weekend I flew into Newport to visit a law school. I went down with my dad, and we stayed right next to the school, which I LOVED. We had the chance to go to Huntington Beach, it is only 20 minutes away. We saw a random boy doing Jazzercise, dolphins, and a surfing competition, we took a mile walk along the beach, went to a farmer's market. The best part is to think this could be my life!! Needless to say, life was great this weekend. Now I have a big decision to make!

I am very excited and not motivated at all to re write my papers and study for my tests! Also, I am headed to california this weekend to check out a school, I really hope it feels as right as it does now! We will see how it goes, I will post pictures from my trip! Funny how things work out- who would have thought a year I would be here!!! Can't wait!
