Charity

Trent and I went to marriage prep today, they talked a lot about forgiveness and really working together in a partnership. My thoughts were turned to charity and really what it is about and how I can better myself to have the blessing of that trait in my life. I had always thought of it as being an abstract thing, just being nice and giving service. Marvin J. Ashton put it beautiful in his talk

"Charity is, perhaps, in many ways a misunderstood word. We often equate charity with visiting the sick, taking in casseroles to those in need, or sharing our excess with those who are less fortunate. But really, true charity is much, much more.

Real charity is not something you give away; it is something that you acquire and make a part of yourself. And when the virtue of charity becomes implanted in your heart, you are never the same again. It makes the thought of being a basher repulsive.

Perhaps the greatest charity comes when we are kind to each other, when we don’t judge or categorize someone else, when we simply give each other the benefit of the doubt or remain quiet. Charity is accepting someone’s differences, weaknesses, and shortcomings; having patience with someone who has let us down; or resisting the impulse to become offended when someone doesn’t handle something the way we might have hoped. Charity is refusing to take advantage of another’s weakness and being willing to forgive someone who has hurt us. Charity is expecting the best of each other."

I loved this, it really broke it down piece by piece so I can look for specific ways to better myself.

Yup, that just happened

Yup... this is a personal picture from tonight, Trent snapped this photo while we were registering.
- I almost cried in Target while choosing a bedspread- yup... sure did.

I feel so bad for Trent. He knows I am trying so hard, I just need more sleep, more time at home and just chilling! Planning a wedding without your mom in your state is... HARD!!!!!! So sorry people if it does not live up to expectations. Working 60 hours a week is going to put a hold on plans, but money talks... well at least shuts down wedding plans.

So if any of you read this, maybe you all should remind Trent this is not permanent! It has been a weird week, new experiences, doctors, work, caterers, lack of working out, overload of food, too much shopping and stress on looking perfect in engagements ( which will be in the rain... :))

Ok done with the rant... now off to bed to get up for a 8 am meeting at work... perfect ;)

Ps... Trent, I love love love you!

Reception

This is where the reception will be taking place, as for the time... I do not know yet. I am so so excited, we have a sun room and everything so we can check out the views of the snow. I am still looking into the decor for the centerpieces and such, it is so expensive but hey, I am crafty... so I might make my own :)

January 15, 2011

I really do not feel like starting a wedding blog. So I thought everyday I would post wedding details! First, I will start with the most important of the day. Trent and I are going to be married in the Mount Timpanogos temple, we do not have a time because the temple is still closed... minor detail :). What is important, though, is I am going to be married for time and all eternity to an amazing person. Without getting too mushy, bleh, I will tell you the reasons I am SO stoked for this moment.
- He is amazing, truly. He is patient, kind, handsome, charitable, funny ( you should check out some of his faces he can make), romantic, thoughtful and ALL MINE.
- We will be married, that means no more late night drives back to my house.
- I will have a partner in crime, anything from funny late nights to regular trips to Hobby Lobby
- I will have someone to cook for
- I will be able to see more meaning in the temple now
- I will have someone to cuddle with, forever

Those are just some reasons I can not wait for January 15. I really hope all of you can make it! I will be posting other details of the wedding throughout the week :)

Sparkly donuts

It all started at work on Saturday. It was a weird day because the systems has shut down. We were doing everything manually and it was stressful. All of a sudden a piece of paper with my name watercolored on it came through the drive thru tube. It was given to me and I opened it up and there was a painted picture of me getting into my car at 3pm after work. I got into my car to see my next instructions...
Red roses, and a map to Utah lake to find Balloons...
With the balloons there was the next map to where I should go...
So I found Trent on a dock (surrounded by Chinese men fishing.. not planned), he had a Krispy Kreme donut bag in his hand. Story with that.... we always decided never to have a marriage agreement, so instead of saying "ring" (heaven forbid) we were refer to them as sparkly donuts. He would play dumb and I would get frustrated, but it played into his plan the whole time. So as I saw the donuts, I was disappointed.... but then he reached into his pocket for a ring box that had the Krispy Kreme logo painted on it, he knelt down and proposed. I said YES YES YES YES YES and was shaking but SO HAPPY! We hugged and kissed ( gross right!?). It was so great....
That's my ring:) It is too big.... so if you see me in the next 7 to 10 days with a different one... it is getting sized.
Yeah he's mine now... FOREVER
I had been craving cafe rio all day, so he went and got it for our picnic.
We found leaves to play in. We will get married January 15, 2011 in the Mount timpanogos temple. Reception will be that night... location to be determined!!!

Engaged!

Hello lovely readers... I need like 30 minutes to post the story with pictures... it is coming I promise!

As for the important things:
I love my ring
We are getting married Jan 15 in Utah
I love Trent

tonight or tomorrow pics will come with the story!:)

Sicky sick

I was looking at blogs today and stumbled across my cousin's- everyday in November she is writing something she is grateful for

Today I am so very grateful for this handsome boy.

I stole this picture off his facebook, mostly because I think he looks hot in it :)

Ok, so yesterday (well and today) I have been sick throwing up, fainting - the works. I call and cry to him and he brought me crackers, 7 up and gatorade. He borrowed his room mate's car to then go get me flowers because the ones that he gave me a few weeks ago were dead. Then he continued to watch "Say Yes to the Dress" for an hour with me until he had Bishopric meeting, only to turn around and come back to sit with me until I fell asleep. I am so so so grateful for this boy and have one thing to say to him...

grown up

Ok, I will admit it, I miss school. Working 40 hours a week is DRAINING- no naps, no vacation, bosses, responsibility, no money because you have more bills, less time to play and/or breathe. Really all I want is a vacation, a week where I can breathe instead of having someone breathing down my neck to get more sales and be responsible. Harry potter and a sandy beach are calling my name....
