Lately

...I have been working absurd hours with more horror stories than would like to share

...I have missed time with friends and the hubby
...I have been making more of an effort to actually enjoy my days off becuase they are scarce
...this is what we have been up to...

TOMORROW

OK tomorrow is my big day... my second half marathon. I got my new teal shirt, new running socks and rocking music and I am trying to figure out how to do my hair.. and may or may not have painted my nails... I just get a boost of energy when I look down and see pink nails.

Date night

My night was filled with good food, company and lots of laughs...

Provo People... station 22... huge awesome fresh salad bar for 4.50... I will be there every weekend you can meet me there :) Trent got jealous obviously his sandwich was not enough

After a long day at work this was needed. HumorU is the a standup group... pretty funny! Thanks Jake and Chelsea for coming along!

Self portrait today....

I am so excited! I ran my 10 this morning and beat my previous time... I took 20 seconds off PER MILE! Yes I ran 10 miles in 89 minutes. I am so ready for this half marathon next week.

Partayyyy

I love planning parties, weddings, bridal showers, baby showers... anything with an invite and people coming along I am there! A friend and I are throwing another friend a baby shower in a few weeks... here is the inspiration... could it get any cuter than this!? Doubtful...
Thanks to my cousin christina, she sent me some bowties. Seriously go check out her blog and etsy shop, the woman has some serious cute talent.

WARNING...

This is going to be a mushy post, so just stop reading if you can't handle it.

We have been in Vegas all weekend and had a large family dinner (love all of the crazy Foutzs) I once again fell in love with this boy as I watched him talk to my Grandma about her mission and laugh it up to my sister. I just can glance over at him from time to time and feel like the luckiest girl in the world. Love you boy!

Here is the little kitchen, I love the fork and spoon. I saw it in Real Simple and searched... Hobby Lobby came to the rescue, as always.
We are still missing our couch, and I am going to make some pillow covers for those bright green ones.
Ok, this is dorky... but these are my curtains! They make me so happy, I love the pattern!

Help me please...

So, I totally though my room was so cute, until I took this picture. I need some serious design help. I think we have a good start with our silver bedspread and the purple curtains and blanket. I want to bring some vibrant pieces into our room! These bare walls are killing me!!! You are all more than welcome to come over too and give me your advice!!!!

I have been sick the last 2 days and with this time in bed I have been able to blog surf. I have come across a new trend (or is it new) that I can not understand... it is where people pose EVERYDAY in their outfit and describe where they got it and how much it was. A) how do you have time for this? b) how do you look so cute EVERYDAY c) how can you remember how much everything was? One lady even described how she had to leave her sick child throwing up to get ready for her daily shot.. hmmm. I think they have some good ideas but I didn't know this was such a huge growing trend among the LDS bloggers...and why it is...

What a week away will do for you...

We loved our cruise (except the fact that Trent's back pack was lost/ stolen). Maybe it was all the time laying out or the food comas that induced this random blog post.

- I wish I had a different job. A job where I can do what I love and help people
- I wish I was a wedding planner (ok, so maybe I am 5... we are all over it)
- I am afraid of heights when I am connected to a rope
- I wish I was mor daring and more able to be myself all the time
- I wish I was not a people pleaser
- I love my husband more than anything... we spent so much time being gross and just staring at each other... love that kid
- I am eternally grateful for the Word of Wisdom
- Being healthy will now be my goal, not just being skinny
- I would rather not wear makeup, ever again
- I love bread baskets, especially when the bread is made by people NOT from america
- I am not a road trip person, planes are my thing (I think my impatience has to do with this)
- I would cruise again in a second
- I LOVE seeing new places and chatting it up with random strangers

ok just had to get that off my chest, now to search the job market to see what can make me happy!

Obviously he is the favorite. Just a quick story, he was in the middle of a final... I started crying becasue I lost my camera that I bought when I finished the lsat. I told him where I thought it was and he rushed off about 11 pm to go grab it. Yeah, he is my favorite.

Sunday walks and these trees that pop up around Provo

These little beauties are right outside our house, but not for long, we are moving tomorrow!

If you have not seen this exhibit you are missing out on something beautiful. Go to the MOA cafe, grab a sandwich, wait in the enormous line to get an IPAD ( you will thank me later) then look through this exhibit ( you will double thank me later with brownies). It is beautiful.

I think WF keeps Dum Dums in business. If these are going to be scattered around my desk, they might as well look pretty.

I am packed... sundresses, t shirts and flip flops.

Yeah, look at this swimsuit. I have the best cousins ever. Yeah, there are kinda 4 right below it too :) Can't have too many of the same tan lines!

FOR SURE my favorite thing right now. About 4 pm saturday I will be on this beauty (except different cruise line). Tanning, running on a boat track, FOOD and MEXICO here we come!

Trent showed me this picture tonight... I just LOVE it. Yes, I know the little boy is carrying bottles of "sparking cider", but we get over that for art's sake. We were talking about how this little man must feel, he just looks like he knows he is a million bucks. My goal is to walk around work like this tomorrow, not cocky but SURE. It has been quite an issue lately... maybe with a little "sparking cider" I would loosen up quite nicely... ok joke. T minus 3 hours until my mom calls and tells me to take that part off.

Hello, Beautiful

Confession: ONE of the billion reasons why I was excited to get married was this beauty. I remember growing up and on Sundays making cookies in a KitchenAid and I knew I wanted one. No, it doens't make me lazy because I don't want to stir it by hand but because it makes everything taste so much better! These were my cookies that I made for Trent's school classes he teaches and they turned out great!

Might as well call me urkel

These two pictures I consider to be self portraits. Lately I have been wondering why am I so awkward! I have had so many moments wondering, "Lauren what is wrong with you, should have stopped talking forever ago". Thank you Trent for loving me even though I am socially awkward. I have figured out the root of the issue, I can not stand lulls in the conversation, I feel this need to keep it going!
I have so many friends who know what to say at the right time. They are not awkward, uptight or socially painful like moi. So if you have the secret, PLEASE for the sake of everyone who knows me.. share.


This is starting to get in the way of life... my job ( how can I sell products to people when I am weird) and if I want to be a zumba instructor (watching me dance all over the place... in spandex.. yelling.. yeah probably not).

Father Foutz

He even goes along with my kooky ideas to dance with me at my wedding... this ain't no typical father daughter dance.

I haven't been home in a while but still I have this deep appreciation for my dad. This week I needed a huge favor (because he has the hookup doctor wise). He jumped right on it and it was taken care of immediatley and now I can know I will be taken care of! He didn't even complain (which reminds me, I have never heard him complain). He takes care of our family no matter how far away from the "nest" we are and no matter how old ( ps ever year on my birthday he writes " 25 I can't believe it". Yup pops you are getting older too). I am eternally grateful to be blessed with an amazing father and patriarch in the family. Love you dad!!
