Scum
You see the bottom of that pole there? Yeah that is me. . . the bottom of the totem pole. Notice how scrawny and insignificant he is? Yup... me. Working is not as glamorous as we like to think it is while in college, so hopefully I can work my way up to PTO and Holidays and being able to be paid what I should be. But for now, I will chill at the bottom.

Sister Bailee
Here is my fantastic room mate Bailee Brinkerhoff. She was called to the Los Angeles, California Visitor Center. Here are the reasons she will be a great missionary.
- She is SO friendly and has an innate gift to talk to everyone
- She LOVES the gospel
- She has overcome many trials in her lifetime with such grace and will be able to connect with many different people on many different levels
- She is awesome, wonderful and amazing
- She dresses great ( that IS important, trust me)
Good luck Bay, Cali doesn't even know what hit them yet!

Hello my name is Lauren. . .
and I am a planner. And I like it! This weekend I went with some friends to Cali. Went to Vegas, woke up "early" and tried to get to Magic Mountain early ( not quite), it was fun to go on the rollercoasters. However, it made me so sad! There were so many teenagers just being crude! They are just stuck in this life with tunnel visions. However, we made the best of it and had fun. Sunday we tried to stop by this beautiful beach, but it was SO windy we could only get out of the car for about 10 minutes. I can't wait to go back. I learned a lot about myself on this trip, I plan, I make decisions, I don't waste time... and I love it.Also came to another realization that I have an amazing family, I am so spoiled. Monday we came home after a day of shopping in Vegas to a very cute boy, so that made it all worth it :)

Lilacs
Last night was so pleasant and just great! I was able to go to institute and play the elementary game of you see a boy looking at you and you look at him, but of course he looks away . . . he is pretty great. Then went to go pick lilacs (with said boy) on Oak and Elm in Provo. They were amazing, even in the dark ( I love flowers). Went through mission stories and then had an amazing time with an amazing person. So life is good, especially with my lilacs sitting on my table.

had to change the name.. too many weirdos from google
Last night I went to Nickel City, Trent and I had decided to play Street Fighter (per his request) and I realized something as I was playing this game and shooting games. I HATE blood, guts, gore, kicking, fighting, shooting, moaning, groaning from death. So I made Trent play skeeball with me ( my fav). But just a personal realization :).

Betty
This little beauty is all mine. . . until Saturday! This car simbolizes my plunge into the depths of insanity. THese last few weeks have been a whirlwind- between broken foots, tickets, moving, management issues with previous apartment, lost credit and debit cards, broken cars that like to stall in Meadow, Utah, and early morning seminary and being a mom- I thought I was losing my mind. Until yesterday, I had to drive this car around, it barely excelerates but it made me count my blessings. Everything has worked out, not the way I planned but I am alive my car is being fixed and it is all being taken care of.
Thanks to Elder Utchdorf's talk on patience, I realized that is what Heavenly Father is trying to teach me.
"Patience is a godly attribute that can heal souls, unlock treasures of knowledge and understanding, and transform ordinary men and women into saints and angels. Patience is truly a fruit of the Spirit.
Patience means staying with something until the end. It means delaying immediate gratification for future blessings. It means reining in anger and holding back the unkind word. It means resisting evil, even when it appears to be making others rich.
Patience means accepting that which cannot be changed and facing it with courage, grace, and faith. It means being “willing to submit to all things which the Lord seeth fit to inflict upon [us], even as a child doth submit to his father.” Ultimately, patience means being “firm and steadfast, and immovable in keeping the commandments of the Lord” every hour of every day, even when it is hard to do so. In the words of John the Revelator, “Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and . . . faith [in] Jesus.”
Patience is a process of perfection. The Savior Himself said that in your patience you possess your souls. Or, to use another translation of the Greek text, in your patience you win mastery of your souls. Patience means to abide in faith, knowing that sometimes it is in the waiting rather than in the receiving that we grow the most. This was true in the time of the Savior. It is true in our time as well, for we are commanded in these latter days to “continue in patience until ye are perfected.”
This talk changed my perspective, so bring on the trials- I know there will be more, especially since patience is a virtue at the top of my list to learn.
