Forget popcorn!

Trent and I love popcorn but we came across this little gem. Steam some of these babies up and a little salt and YUM!!!! I guess it is a lot healthier!

My husband makes me adventurous

I think my hubby was sick of me going to work, cooking, running and watching "say yes to the dress" all day. So he rented us some cross country skiies and we hit the back country!

We went up American Fork canyon and found this...

Yes aren't we an adorable, sweaty couple!? Cross Country skiing is not easy people.
I just can't believe I am so lucky!!!
Can you tell which skiies are mine!?

I had a lot of fun, it took a while to get into the groove but it was fun just the two of us.

Food for the soul

I had a craving for some mac and cheese the other week, so I looked up a recipe online and basically substituted all of the fattening ingredients for less fattening ones. Also cooking light has amazing recipes and they turn our favorite fatty recipes into lighter calorie dishes! Hello favorite thing EVER!

Fruits of your Labors

Four years ago today, I entered the Provo MTC. Little did I know the impact my mission would have on me... all I knew is I was scared out of my mind to be learning spanish, eating crazy food and was terrified of getting sick. But now looking back, I had nothing to fear... I should have had more faith. There are so many experiences I could share from that 18 months but this one is one of the main ones that continues to impact me, testifying to me that TRULY as missionaries we are instruments in the Lord's hand, we just follow His will and we are lead to the chosen ones.
That is how my companion and I met Elmer Salguero.

We would cross the only highway to get to his house about 2 miles away from anyone else. We walked through a canal and some crazy jungle. He lived with 30 of his family members in houses made out of sticks and garbage sacks.
They would give us corn everyday for coming to give them follow up lessons from their previous baptism. I was stocked about this. Little did we know the day after this picture was taken we would go up to visit and a punk little kid would yell at us telling us he had read our "mormon book" and he wanted to be baptized.

We were shocked... so we taught him the lessons in a week and he was baptized by his cousin who was baptized 2 weeks prior.
He was so happy and ready. I left the area about 3 months after his baptism. Little did I know what would come of him.
I just got this picture in an email about 2 weeks ago. He is now on a mission in Rosario, Argentina. He is loving it. I know the Lord had prepared me to go on a mission and I know I was called there to help this young man so he can help the people of Argentina. It is crazy how little and insignificant you feel in the grand scheme of things, but I know being an instrument in the Lord's hands can help miracles happen.

I will only get sooo sentimental on you guys every year on the 28th... that and maybe Jan 15th ;)

The Big 25

Mangos are in season... that is enough of a happy birthday to me.
These are not in order... but we went to HAIRSPRAY at the Hale theater. We were on the front row meaning I tripped many a dancers as they walked out (joking) but really there were that close.
Lacee gave me these awesome shoes... you would think they were toms, oh no they are more comfortable and well less "provoiteish".
This deserves a round 2. Thanks mom and dad!

Oh and this is me.. stuffing my face at TUCNAOS, right after my facial.... yes I have the best husband ever.

I think it's march...

This was taken 3 houses down from me, today... March 23. THey take so much care to blow it up about mid day and take it down late at night. As weird (ok I will say it) as this is, I kinda like having weird neighbors.

Let Freedom Ring?

No, I'm not talking about this freedom...

I am talking about this "freedom". I have an awesome sister in law and brother in law. They have four kids, are both getting their Phd's and just know so much about the world. They are moving to Qatar and have already been to Egypt and all over the American continent. I was talking to her about what they do and she made a good point, she said they love their freedom and love the liberty to be able to pick up and move and experience.
This really made me think... I had always thought that freedom would mean I would have a beautiful home and a beautiful family. Now I wonder if I would rather have the freedom to experience, to travel, to move at any moment and pick up and experience in a way I can't see available with a mortgage and a 9-5 job ( Don't get me started on mine... I feel like a woman twice my age).

I guess my heart and brain are looking to rebel.. who knows... who knows if this makes sense.

Ok word vomit is over :)

Back in the game!

My half marathon is in 3 months exactly, with a cruise inbetween (I mention it because I see it as a break in my training)
Usually I eat a piece of this bread before I run with some PB and some banana however today it was these beauties....
and it totally paid off! I made great time... who knew!!!

Also while I was running I saw my running idol, she is awesome. I was too scared to say hi, but it sure made me run my last three miles pretty fast trying to keep up with her ( yeah she was WAY too fast, but a stoplight did get in the way ... makes me feel better when I say that)

ALSO I guess I have to apologize to everyone, I am sorry I was cranky. I know I am SO blessed and have nothing to be cranky about but sometimes you just have those days and I like to think it is ok sometimes...

Whoops...

This has been me the last two days... work has been not so good and this old man hit me in the parking lot, so just another thing to take care of which means I have not been a happy camper. Thanks Trent for hanging in there... it will get better once some sort of chocolate is involved (in cookie or cake form) with a chick flick and perhaps a facial, manicure or pedicure. Also me turning 25 on my golden birthday does not help.

We've moved

ok, just kidding... kinda. I feel like I have. These are my new homes, I have been in training for my new job. It is up by the airport and with the awesome road constucting skills on display on Utah Valley's freeways it takes me about 60-90 minutes to get to work. Then to sit in front of a screen learning all about credit and accounts and money (ask me anything, seriously) then to drive home makes my day between 10-12 hours long. Little lolita (my car, duh) has gotten quite a workout, so has my debit card with gas... oh and the diet coke machine at the training facility.
