Social Norms...

I am aware this is not a "must-read" blog, but I have enjoyed jotting down my ideas. I am a sociology major, we observe groups of people and analyze why people do certain things. I have been thinking of three examples:

Last night I went to a comedy club here in Provo. It was an improv night, they did some funny skits. . . not too hilarious; however, people were laughing their heads off. It made me think of why we do that, it has to be the setting we are in. If these guys were doing their skits in another setting, no one would really be laughing, probably if they were out of Provo.

Also, I work at a call center. We answer phones all day, help people with technical questions, since it is a direct selling company we talk to many of the same people everyday. However, for example today, we had a lady waiting in the cue for over 2 hours, for some reason it was the topic of conversation forever. Also the way we make fun of people that call in, whether they know it or not, just never would be funny outside of my job. Really I don't think it is funny at all... :)

Also, Provo... provo humor is not funny anywhere else....

Ok enough for my blabbering on and on....

I wish

So today I wish so many things:

I wish it was summer

I wish I chocolate was calorie free

I wish I had energy to go to the gym

I wish law schools would get back to me

I wish I could dress like this....

I wish I could sing

I wish I had my own room

I wish I didn't have to work

I wish I was back in the mission

I wish I could sleep, in a big comfy bed

I wish people would just listen

I wish people would not judge so harshly

I wish it was April 23....

Looks like I need a shooting star.

Summer Plans

Ok so I may be getting ahead of myself... since it is dumping snow outside, also due to the fact that I hate winter and everything about it. But this is my last summer of freedom before I sell my soul to a law school and I have a million things I want to do. Get tan, beach, disneyland, hiking, baking, zoo, beach, vegas, best friends, summer nights, no Lsat pre course this summer, shopping, aloe vera, lemonade, picnics, not having to wash snow off my car, shorts, new swimsuits. So there are certain things this summer I WILL DO!
- Hang out with Lacee and do something super fun
-Finally go to the Zoo in SLC
- Hike Timp and the Y
- Bridal Veil Falls ( never been there!)
- Park City
- Bear Lake ( SO AMAZING!)
- California- a trip up the coast would be ideal
- Actually get a new swimsuit and look good in it
- Just live it up, because the next summer I will be in some interning... oh yay!

I would love to come home to a bouquet of these... aren't they beautiful!?

Diet Coke and Cake Mix

Did you know that these two things make a cake!? I was so excited when I heard that!
I guess I have had some other revelations lately.
- I can actually get into law school, and I did!
- having a boyfriend would not be the worst thing in the world
- The temple makes everything better
- Money is not the end all be all
- Being sick is not fun and tests my patience
- Having a clean car makes my day
- Losing weight is worth the sacrifice of sugar
- Running takes all my cares away
- My calling is actually a blessing!

Flashback

I made a Zack Morris reference yesterday, more like I was forced to. One of my friends is growing his hair out, he looked like this guy from Saved By the Bell. I half expected him to pull out this phone when his phone rang... but no just a Blackberry. This hair cut is not ok in 2010.

Camila has come out with a new song and video and it is so good! I fell in love with this group in El Salvador, I would hear their songs in the streets while we were tracting... and so I came home and bought the CD and I love it!

Silly Boys, Trucks Are For Girls...

Last night I had a dream that I was driving this... my good 'ol truck.
I loved this truck because:
- You could hear me from a mile away
- It had a pink flower, and a " Silly Boys, trucks are for girls sticker" until Karey and Austin scratched it off, I am still trying to forgive them.
- It was one of the oldest car's in the coronado parking lot
- It fit a dirt bike AND a four wheeler in the back
- All the boys were jealous
All of these things were great until the day at the MTC when I was going in, that my dad leaned over and told me that someone was going to come get it the next day :(. Random post, but I sure miss that truck!

Heath Bar Cookies

Close but not quite...

So with my goals for 2010 I thought I would search for a cute swimsuit for some motivation... I went to google typed in " modest swimsuit" and this is what came up. This is not quite the motivation I was looking for...

Motivation

Thanks to this show, and Jillian, I ran 2 extra miles today... that and I have a date tonight. I promise I will start posting pictures that I actually have taken, but that takes time, which will be available Saturday.

Baking Adventure of the Day

Tonight we have our RS kick off, secretly a way for girls to get animated for Visiting Teaching, so I decided to do my sunday ritual of trying to bake something new. This is what I tried, it didn't quite turn out like this, but it looks good. Baking de- stresses me, only when it turns out right. Today, it did not turn out too well... but it is one I will try again.

What a Wonderful World

Today my cousin and I took a drive to go to Park City outlets, shopping is our weakness, while driving back the sun was just at the right spot that I wish I had my camera. As much as I complain about Utah, I really do love the beauty here. So I didn't take this picture, but it just captured just about the same vision of what I saw today. Sometimes when life gets nuts, and nothing seems to be going right, Heavenly Father just shows his love in the most simple of ways, starting with the world He has created!

So here I am, blogging, something I swore I would never do. However, since deleting Facebook I thought why not. At work they started blogs about posting a picture everyday and I loved the idea of expressing myself through pictures, and some commentary! But lately this is how I have been feeling *sorry Stefi I stole it off your blog* but sometimes life just hands you something hard or difficult and this is how you feel when you overcome that with SUCCESS!
